Three Common Breast Symptoms that Benefit from Breast Massage
Many of my clients report the cyclical recurrence of tender breasts right before the onset of their periods.
Did you know that you can massage your own breasts?
Have you been taught how? As a Chinese Medicine practitioner, I learned early on in my studies that the breasts are an important part of our overall wellbeing. They are yin accumulations and for those of us that menstruate, we are already full of yin abundance. All this yin needs yang circulation. There are many acupuncture meridians that cross the breasts. It’s crucial that this area is free flowing due to this high traffic.
Performing a ritual breast massage ensures that your tissues are supple and free of stagnation. Here are 3 really common breast symptoms that benefit from regular breast massage and their common patterns:
Tender/Sore Breasts: Usually caused by a level of qi &/or blood stagnation
Mastitis: Combination of qi &/or blood stagnation and sometimes heat
Fibrocystic Breasts: Usually caused by a combination of qi &/or blood stagnation with phlegm accumulation
Are you noticing a theme here?
Things can get quite stuck. Our breast tissues are mostly made up of mammary glands, lymph tissue and fat. Because of this combination, it requires your participation to ensure adequate movement to prevent these common symptoms.
